NEW YORK — U.S. Representative His Excellency Gregory Weldon Meeks has been formally honored with an honorary doctorate degree from Royal American University, recognizing his exceptional public service and extensive contributions to the community.

The honorary degree was officially issued by Royal American University in November 2022 following a formal nomination by Prof. Dr. Tony J. from the university. The degree was subsequently presented to Congressman Meeks in April 2023 by Dr. Tony J., who serves as the Chancellor of Royal American University, the partner founder and president of UNI American Eagles, and the partner president of USAGATES.ORG, a gateway to the American universities.

An accomplished lawyer and seasoned statesman, Congressman Meeks has been a prominent fixture in federal governance, serving as a U.S. Representative from New York since 1998. He proudly serves the constituents of New York’s Fifth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. As a leading member of the Democratic Party, Meeks chaired the influential House Committee on Foreign Affairs from 2021 to 2023, and he continues to guide American foreign policy as the committee’s current Ranking Member.
